August and September make up Alaska’s rainy season. Hunters should be prepared for rain. Hunters in the KNWR should also be prepared for thick gnats and mosquitoes and should bring bug nets to cover their faces.
The area is a true refuge. Our mandate is to not "leave a footprint." Our camps consist of wall tents with wood burning stoves, free standing backpack tents, or sleeping in boats.
The hunter may take one hindquarter and the backstraps from his/her moose. The rest of the meat will be donated to the local residents.

measuring 75 6/8, was taken in the KNWR.
It is #50 for Boone and Crockett.
